The Synology RX1217 is a diskless expansion unit that adds 12 hot-swappable drive bays to compatible RackStation NAS systems. It supports on-the-fly RAID volume expansion without service interruption and can serve as a local backup destination, all managed seamlessly within DiskStation Manager (DSM).
