Description
The Synology SA6400 is a diskless 2U, 19″ rackmount 12-bay NAS enclosure designed for enterprise and studio environments requiring massive, on-demand scalability. It’s powered by DiskStation Manager (DSM) and an AMD EPYC 7272 12-core 2.9 GHz (base) / 3.2 GHz (turbo) processor, with 32 GB DDR4 ECC RDIMM installed (expandable to 1 TB across 16 slots). Native networking includes two 10 GbE and four 1 GbE ports with link aggregation and failover, and up to eight RX1223RP expansion units can boost raw capacity from 12 to 108 drives (up to 2.1 PB).

Performance & Scalability
Out of the box, the SA6400 delivers up to 6,500 MB/s sequential read and 4,000 MB/s sequential write. When fully expanded with RX1223RP units, throughput can exceed 10,000 MB/s read and 6,200 MB/s write. Online scale-out to 108 drives and optional high-speed PCIe networking ensure it meets evolving performance and capacity requirements.
