The Synology RX418 is a 1U rackmount, diskless expansion unit that adds four hot-swappable SATA drive bays to compatible 1U RackStation NAS systems. It operates as if the drives were internal, supports online volume expansion, and can serve as a dedicated local backup destination for data protection and capacity scaling.
